Belts D2 (Diablo II)

Belts in Diablo II are designed to provide quick access to items and can contain multiple slots, loops, and cords for holding potions and other vital items. The larger the belt, the more potions and scrolls it can store, with belts of Exceptional and Elite quality having 16 slots.

While only four slots are typically displayed on the Interface Bar, additional slots can be accessed by highlighting any visible belt slot or by pressing the tilde key. Health, Mana, and Rejuvenation potions are automatically placed in the belt when picked up, provided empty columns exist. Scrolls and other drinkable potions can also be placed in the belt, but only if there is a matching item in one of the hot key slots and an empty slot above it.

Expanding Belt Capacity

All belts of Exceptional and Elite quality have 16 slots, while normal belts vary in size. Although only four slots are displayed on the Interface Bar, you can access the additional slots by highlighting any of the visible belt slots or by pressing the tilde (“~”) key to toggle the belt open and closed.

Automatic Placement of Potions and Scrolls

Health, Mana, and Rejuvenation potions are automatically placed in the belt when picked up if there are empty columns in the belt. If no columns are unused, potions will only be added if potions of the corresponding type are already in the belt. For example, if the belt contains four health potions, one in each row, only health potions will be automatically put in the belt upon pickup. Mana and Rejuvenation potions will be added to the inventory instead.

You can also place scrolls of Identify and Town Portal, as well as other drinkable potions, in your belt. However, items like scrolls are not automatically placed in your belt unless there is a matching item in one of your four hot key slots and there is an empty slot above the one with the matching item.

Buying and Moving Potions in the Belt

Holding down SHIFT and RIGHT-Clicking when buying Health Potions auto-fills any empty slots in the belt. The same applies to buying scrolls of Town Portal and Identify.

Holding down SHIFT and LEFT-Clicking on Health, Mana, and Rejuvenation potions in your inventory will auto-move them to the appropriate column in your belt.

Giving Potions to Hirelings

If you have a hireling, you can give potions to them by holding down SHIFT and a Hot Key (1-4) or Right-Clicking on Health, Mana, and Rejuvenation potions in your belt. Here’s a table showcasing the different belts in Diablo 2, categorized into Normal, Exceptional, and Elite belts:
